All of us at Tonglen are committed to maintaining the health of our environment – join us in minimizing waste by pre-ordering your meals.

Tonglen’s menu rotates every night, always offering three choices of entrees – a seafood, a meat, and vegetarian option. All courses are informed by seasonal, fresh and locally sourced ingredients meant to highlight the bounty that Alaska has to offer. Using ingredients such as locally foraged berries, organically grown greens, or kelp harvested from the shores of Juneau, you’ll enjoy meals that are uniquely Alaskan.

The extraordinary dining room at the Lodge with its hand-hewn wooden interior and expansive views is the perfect venue for a five-course dinner every evening. Guests may also choose to dine on the balcony section when the weather permits. Your dining time will be reserved at breakfast each day to keep your experience as intimate as possible.

Vegan and gluten-free dietary requirements may be accommodated with enough notice to prepare.

Our guests start the day with the aromas from our on-site bakery and freshly ground espresso made with Alaskan-roasted Kaladi Brothers beans. Relax in the friendly ambience and creative aesthetic of the Artisan Café – a favorite with both Tonglen Lake Lodge guests and locals. Indulge with delicious pastries, wholesome chef-prepared breakfasts, and carefully crafted espresso drinks made with Alaskan-roasted Kaladi Brothers coffee.

Espresso drinks and pastries are available from 7am-10pm, all included in your stay.

Tonglen guests are typically off property during lunch hours, either on a hike in the backcountry of Denali National Park or on a bus deep inside the Park. Some may even be white water rafting down the Nenana. Our guests don’t need to worry about finding food while they’re out – Tonglen’s Artisan Cafe has lunch prepared for pickup at breakfast every morning.

Guests can also feel free to add to their lunch each day with plenty of snack options offered all day in the Artisan Cafe to grab and go.

While there is always another trail to explore in the park, some days are meant for staying up at the Lodge. Tonglen Lake Lodge staff are available to help plan the following day’s excursions and provide complimentary pre-dinner snacks and drinks.

Enjoy lawn games, board games, or take your time perusing the local Artisan’s works on display in the Cafe. After dinner, guests are welcome to enjoy the campfire, roasted marshmallows or join in on a guided evening walk.

All beer, house wine and canned cocktails are included in your stay, with wine by the bottle and additional liquor options available for purchase.

Tonglen Lake Lodge strives to provide the freshest dining options in the Denali area, sourcing as much from our local partners as possible. Despite our remote location, we do our best to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Please let us know if you have any concerns at least one week prior to your arrival so we can ensure we have the correct products in stock to best suit your needs. Please note that while we can accommodate most dietary restrictions, alterations to the menu may impact the exact courses an individual or party may receive.
